Rebecca Evans (1843), daughter of John Evans (c1796) and Susannah Preece (c1802), was baptised 12 Mar 1843 in Bridstow, Herefordshire. It's believed she had a son, Henry Evans, c1859. She later married Edwin Partridge (c1841) in 1864 in Ross District, Herefordshire. Edwin was an Agricultural Labourer and Shoemaker and was born in Llangarron Herefordshire in about 1841, according to census records.

Rebecca and Edwin had nine known children, born between 1865 and 1884. The family lived in Marstow and Llangarron, Herefordshire.


Henry Evans c1859

Henry Evans was born about 1859 in Marstow or Pencraig, according to census records. He is living with his mother, stepfather and their further children until 1881; in 1891 he is an Ag Lab and a lodger in the home of the Roberts family in Llangrove. His future wife, Elizabeth Roberts, is also there. Henry and Elizabeth married in 1891 in Ross District and went on to have four known children before 1901.

Ada Alice Partridge c1865

Ada was born c1865 in Marstow, Pencraig or Goodrich Herefordshire, according to census records. She was living with her family in 1871 and 1881, married George Powell in late 1889, and was listed as a visitor in the home of her widowed mother in 1891 under her married name, along with a five-month-old daughter, Laura. Ada and George had a further two known children and were living in Northfield Worcestershire in 1901.

Edwin Partridge 1867

Edwin Partridge was baptised in Goodrich Herefordshire on 14 Apr 1867. His family's residence at that time was given as Coppett Hill (near Goodrich). It's believed he married Margaret(ta) Alice Lewis (1869) in 1897 in Ross District, Herefordshire and had at least two daughters before 1901. In 1901 Edwin was working as a Waggoner on a farm and was living in Llangrove, Llangarron Herefordshire.

Sarah Ann Partridge 1869

Sarah Ann Partridge was baptised on 19 Sep 1869 in Whitchurch, Herefordshire. Sarah married Thomas Sykes (c1865) in Monmouth District in late 1890. In 1891 she is visiting with her mother in Llangrove; in 1901 Sarah and Thomas are living at Little St Dials Farm, Cwmbran Monmouthshire. All five of their children in 1901 are listed as having been born in Llangrove Herefordshire, including the youngest daughter Mabel who was nine months old at the time. This family went on to have twelve known children in all; five born in Llangrove and seven in Llantarnam, Cwmbran.

Edith Laura Partridge 1872

Edith Laura Partridge was born in 1872 in Marstow, Herefordshire according to census records. She was living at home in 1881 and was working as a General Servant in Littleworth Gloucester in 1891. Laura married William Poston (c1874) in Ross District in 1899 and in 1901 the couple is living at Pool Mill Cottage in Bridstow Herefordshire with their nine-month-old son, William.

Emily M(aud?) Partridge c1875

Emily Partridge was born c1875 in Llangarron, Herefordshire, according to census records. In 1891 she was working as a General Domestic Servant in South Hamlet Gloucester, and in 1901 in Alexandra Road, Gloucester, along with her younger sister Clara. Nothing more is known of Emily at this time.

Alfred Partridge c1877

Alfred Partridge was born about 1877 in Llangarron Herefordshire according to census records. In 1901 he was probably a boarder with the Summy family in Llangarron; his occupation is given as Engine Driver. Nothing more is known of Alfred at this time.

Clara Janetta Partridge 1879

Clara Partridge was born in 1879 in Llangarron Herefordshire according to census records. She was living at home for the 1881 and 1891 censuses, and in 1901 is working as a Domestic Servant in Alexandra Road, Gloucester with her elder sister Emily. Clara married Hubert William Boulton (1880) in Gloucester District in 1901. Nothing more is known of Clara at this time.

Cornelius Partridge c1882

Cornelius Partridge was born about 1882 in Llangarron Herefordshire according to census records. He is living at home in 1891 and in 1901 is working as a Servant for the Jones family in Welsh Newton Herefordshire. Nothing more is known of Cornelius at this time, although it's believed his first name was a family name of the Partridges.

William Charles Partridge 1883

William Partridge was born in Llangarron Herefordshire according to census records. In 1901 he is living at home with his family and working as a Farm Labourer. Nothing more is known of William at this time.
